Erected 1911, Jarvis is the smallest residence hall on campus, and the oldest building, built in 1911. It houses about 120 women, usually split evenly between freshmen and upper-classmen. Jarvis Hall consistently has the highest grade point average among the residence halls. It is named for Colonel J.J. Jarvis, a noted Fort Worth churchman, attorney, bank director, district judge and state legislator. He served as president of the Board of Trustees from 1889 until 1896.
